Northern Lights Paranormal Society (NLPS)

The investigation process generally begins with a phone call from someone who believes they are having a paranormal problem in their home, school, or place of business. It is at that time that we listen to the preliminary claims of activity and conduct a short interview with the potential client. We then set up a date and time to conduct an investigation. In cases where there are children in the home who are frightened or feel threatened in any way, they are moved to the top of our list and the investigation will take place as soon as possible. The next stage for investigation is meeting the clients on the site for a walk through tour of the place. This stage is very important because it gives us an idea of the most active areas for paranormal phenomenon and also where the best areas are to set up our equipment. It is also helpful in determining if there are any dangerous or hazardous areas that us investigators might encounter. After the tour we then begin setting up our equipment throughout the building to capture any unexplained phenomenon. Keep in mind all of our investigations take place at night usually between 7 pm - 4 am. We also do all of our work in the dark so all the lights in the building will need to be shut off. The reason for turning off the lights is because we use infrared cameras that can see in total darkness and are able to capture things that we cannot see with the naked eye. Another reason is because we also take E.M.F (Electro Magnetic Field) readings and the electricity running through lighting fixtures causes man made readings and not the unexplained readings we are looking for. We do not disrupt the home or cause damage to the clients belongings in any way during our investigations. In fact when we are done we will leave no sign that we were even there and your home can go back to it's normal state. When we conduct our investigations, we will try to find answers to the activities the clients are experiencing. We do our best to debunk the claims of the haunting through the process of re-creation. We don't do this to discredit our clients or make them feel foolish, we do this to help ease the clients mind that if the activities are not paranormal they can be either understood or remedied. After the investigation is over we then take all of the evidence collected back to our office for review. Depending on the investigation the review process can take anywhere from 1 day to a week to analyze. We will also try to gather any background evidence on the building or land from local libraries, hall of records, or historians. This comes in handy if the haunting revolves around a certain person from the past because it allows us to research names and anything about that person in documented format. After the evidence is analyzed we will then contact the client and set up a meeting with them to show them our findings or lack there of if that is the case. Our clients will recieve copies of any evidence we collect on their investigation along with copies of any documentation that we find. In cases where we do find paranormal phenomenon, we will help the client try to understand what it is and help them deal with it or to get rid of it in any means possible. If the client continues to have problems we are always available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for follow up investigations or consultation if needed and all services are kept completely confidential without permission by the client to release them to the public. The NLPS does require some paperwork to be filled out by our clients. This is necessary to protect the clients and the investigators welfare along with the clients privacy and authority.
